Are there any other planets like earth in our universe
Our earth which is a temperature planet plays an important role in our origin and survival in this universe . Earth has water
in liquid form and has an appropriate temperature for survival of life. And now
specialists are finding a planet like earth which is also suitable for lie. If there
is any moderate planet like earth in this universe, so maybe there is life on
that planet in any form.
The latest effort in this regard is the space flight of the
sensitive telescope called Kepler. The Kepler mission of NASA was launched on
March 6, 2009 from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. The aim of this
mission is to find such planets in our Milky Way galaxy which is being at such
distance from its center star which comes in “habitable zone” (habitable zone
means such area which is suitable for life) and is suitable for life like
earth. That planet must not be so close to its star that it will burn, neither
so far from its star that it will be so cold and deadly for survival of life
and there be water in liquid form on that planet. In scientific terms the exact
distance between the star and the planet, it is known as Goldilocks distance.
To find such planets many missions are working and probably
they will soon uncover the hidden planets which are suitable for life. In the
solar system this mission is has a unique position and thanks to the
sensitivity this planet will be able to show better results as compared to the past
missions. The cost of this mission was almost 600 million dollars.
“We hope that there will be any other planets like earth in
our universe” says the chief scientist William Borucki, he belongs to the NASA
Ames research center.
