A great invention

Oven

Oven is a simple device. A closed box in which the temperature is dry and the same. We use an oven to cook meals or is used to harden something. For example, iron ore is changed into iron or steel, or mud is changed for ceramics.

Immediately after the discovery of fire, it was observed that different stones or rocks have properties to maintain or to transfer heat. History we know told us that bread is an important thing for human survival. Specialists thought that grain was roasted on open fire but then it was discovered that when those grains are added to water and then are made on fire, it becomes a porridge type thing which is easy to digest. Humans learned that if the stones are heated so they can maintain heat for long time. And when the thin porridge is poured on flat rocks which are around the fire, its water becomes vapor. And that’s how “pancake” or flat bread was discovered.

Finally, humans learned that if the porridge is stored to make it later it becomes yeast or it don’t be able to be eaten because of presence of yeast. Because this was not suitable, a new thing was discovered that if the thick mix which is easy to change into any shape, make it like yeast bread. (And we are familiar with that bread of bakeries in these days.)

The Egyptians started to use the yeast bread completely in the beginning. Almost 26000 B.C, they used it as leavening agent for yeast. They took a little sour dough and mixed it into the fresh dough and used it according to their need. Baking techniques grew rapidly, and 50 different types of bread were made. So that is not a big problem, the credit of making the first oven goes the Egyptians.
